Reception is for the bride, groom and two guests. A minimum purchase of six nights in a Diamond Ocean View Concierge category room package is required for free package. Guests not meeting the reservation requirements still qualify for the free wedding package with a 6-night stay, but must pay the licensing fees of $250.00. Price for stays of less than 7-nights is $600 (subject to change). In addition to the standard inclusions, the resort offers a number of add-on enhancement packages. Price does not include accommodations or transfers.

A government processing, license and certificate fee of $200 is additional and mandatory. You are required to be on property at least two (2) full business days in advance in order to finalize wedding arrangements and apply for a marriage license. The following documents will need to be received by the wedding department in Florida at least 30 days prior to the wedding. (1) Notarized copies of your birth certificate AND passport or driver's license OR a copy of your passport. (2) Notarized proof of divorce, or notarized copy of death certificate for widow must be included where applicable.

Mexico Marriage Requirements

In order to be legally married in Mexico, there are a few requirements you need to meet.
(For symbolic ceremonies the following list is not applicable. It applies only to legal marriages.)

  • Bride, Groom & Witnesses must arrive in Cancún 4 working days prior to the wedding day (Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays do not count). Symbolic and non-legal ceremonies allow flexibility for arrival date. Please speak with the wedding coordinator to discuss requirements.
  • Valid Passports of the Bride, Groom and 4 witnesses (This is essential, otherwise the wedding cannot be performed) Please bring these documents when you meet the wedding coordinator.
  • Tourist Card (you will get one upon arrival to the Cancún airport). Make sure your name is written as it appears on your passport.
  • If either the bride or groom is divorced, original Birth Certificates are required with the originating country’s Registry Stamp (Le Apostille). This document should be translated into Spanish. The cost is $50 USD + 16% tax per birth certificate.
  • Blood tests, performed in México. Test are not valid if performed elsewhere and should not be performed more than 14 days prior to the ceremony. The blood will be tested for HIV, RPR (sexually transmitted diseases) and blood type. The results will be ready in 24 hours and will be provided with a certificate of the blood test. The charge is $250 USD + 16% tax per couple, to be paid directly to the doctor in cash the day the test is performed.
  • Witness Information. The names, addresses, nationalities, ages, occupation, relationship, copies of tourist cards and valid identification of the four witnesses. The Wedding Coordinator will provide the legal form to fill out. The wedding couple and the witnesses must present each passport to the jugdge on the wedding date. The jusge will verify.
  • Consider the fee for the Judge’s transportation. The Judge usually performs the civil ceremony at their office, but will oblige to come to the resort if the transportation is provided. The round trip fare from the city is $50 USD. This should be paid directly to the Judge on the wedding day or can be arranged in advance through the wedding coordinator. There is a $200 USD fee for the judges transportation on Sundays.
  • The Marriage Certificate is only valid in Mexico. In order to make it legal internationally, the Wedding Coordinator will send a copy of your License to the Validation Process. The Marriage license will have to be translated from Spanish to English after being Apostilled. The fee will be $300 USD + 16% tax. The process will take up to 2-3 months. Once the document is apostilled, the resort will send all documentation to couples home address.

 

 

Jamaica Marriage Requirements

In order to get legally married in Jamaica, there are a few requirements you need. Even though by law the wedding couple only needs to be here 24 hours in advance, we would advise you to come at least 3 days in advance to meet with the wedding coordinator and Marriage officer and go through the final details regarding the wedding. Symbolic and non-legal ceremonies allow flexibility for arrival date. Please speak with the wedding coordinator to discuss requirements.

The following original documents are required to be sent via courier to the Wedding Coordinator at least eight weeks prior to the couple's arrival to the hotel:

  • Proof of citizenship – certified copy of birth certificate, which includes father's name.
  • Notarized copies of Bride and Groom's official ID (Passports).
  • Proof of divorce if applicable (original certificate of divorce).
  • Notarized copy of death certificate for widow or widower.
  • Occupation of both candidates.
  • Occupation and full names of both sets of parents.
  • Parent's written consent if under 18 years of age.
  • After ceremony, the couple will receive a copy of the Marriage Register that the Officer will take to the Registrar General in Montego Bay in order to obtain your Official Certificate. This process takes approximately 3 months and the wedding coordinator will mail the documents to you as soon as they receive it from the Registrar's Office.
  • The wedding coordinators  are not responsible for those documents sent via Postal or Currier Services and not received by the Wedding Coordinator.
  • After signing the Marriage Registrar forms, the Minister sends the documents signed by the couple to the Registrar General Department (Government Agency that processes marriage certificates) ; on average the processing of the paperwork takes approximately 3 months ,please note that the wedding coordinator is not responsible for any delay in the processing of the marriage certificates.

Symbolic Ceremonies: In Jamaica, symbolic ceremonies are considered a non-legal option. Due to Government law, wedding couples MUST be legally married in their country prior to having a symbolic ceremony in Jamaica. The bride and groom must present their wedding certificate as proof of marriage for a symbolic ceremony.

 

Dominican Republic Marriage Requirements

Documentation required by the Dominican Law in order to get married in the Dominican Republic. The following are all the documentation required by Dominican Law in order to get married in the Dominican Republic.

Requirements:

  • Birth Certificate of Bride and Groom or certified copy of Birth certificate. If parents' names are not shown on the certificates, please indicate them separately.
  • Notarized Declaration of Single status for the Bride and Groom. If previously married, submit two copies of the Divorce Decree or Death Certificate. There is a mandatory waiting period for women, 10 months before they are legally allowed to remarry.
  • A photocopy of Bride and Groom's Passport (or documents used to enter the DR).
  • Photocopies of all Witnesses Passports. Cannot be family members. If necessary, resort will provide witnesses.
  • Bride & Groom must be in the country 3 business days prior to the wedding.

All documents must be translated and legalized by the Dominican Consulate prior to arriving in the Dominican Republic, except for the Passports. The documents should be legalized by the Dominican Consulate no more than 3 months prior to the wedding date. It is the couple's responsibility to have all the documentation ready prior to the wedding. The Judge is an outside service provided by the Dominican Government. We cannot be held responsible for any delay or alteration. The Judge will duly register your Wedding Certificate at the Central Civil Board and legalize it with the Foreign Affairs Department of the Dominican Republic. We will then send the Wedding Certificate to the couple via mail which may take up to 10-12 weeks.

The Civil Wedding is celebrated in Spanish. If necessary, Dreams Punta Cana will provide English, French or German translators without an additional charge.
